ketherian has cooked this
2-lb loaf
  • 2 cups water (80-90 F/ 26-32 C)
  • 3 tablespoons dry milk powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into pieces
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 cups AP or bread flour
  • 1 cup cracked wheat (bulgar)
  • 4 teaspoons active dry or bread machine yeast
1. Measure ingredients into the bread pan in the order that they are listed.
2. Insert the bread pan securely into the unit, close the lid, and plug the unit into the wall outlet.
3. Select the Sandwich stetting and appropriate loaf size (2lbs) and color.
4. Press the Start button.
5. The Complete signal will sound when the bread is done.
6. Using pot holders, remove the bread pan from the unit and carefully remove the bread from the pan. The kneading paddle may remain in the bread. Remove it when the bread has cooled.

    • The bread is quite crumbly with a bit of a crunch. Pleasant, especially when fresh.
