Protein Poisoning Chili

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely diced
  • 2 tins brown beans in tomato sauce
  • 1 tin white northern beans
  • 1 small tin tomato paste
  • 1 bottle spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili powder, divided
  • 2 tbsp black pepper, divided
  • 1 tbsp cumin
Cook the sausages and let them rest on absorbent paper to drain.
Open and add the beans, spices, tomato paste and spaghetti sauce to the crock pot.
Cook the ground beef and drain it well.
Break it up and mix in 1 tbsp chili powder and 1 tbsp black pepper.
Add it to the crock pot.
Cook the diced onion in the same pan as the hamburger was cooked in.
When the onion is translucent, add the crushed garlic and stir well.
Add the onion and garlic to the crock pot.
Dice the cooled sausages and add it to the crock pot.
Stir well and set the crock pot to high for 3 hours.
Serve hot over polenta, rice, or even toast.
