"Ada Coleman was one of the earliest and best-known female bartenders, and this is the best-known of her creations. Using the same proportions as a classic dry Martini (1:1), she subbed in sweet vermouth and used Fernet Branca, a bitter amaro, in place of the orange bitters. The resulting drink is flavorful, subtle and has just a touch of an herbal flavor that says "autumn" to me." - springpartners
